Our Vineyard and Winery
The year 2013 is the 10th Anniversary Year of the Winery opening to the public. What started as a dream in the spring of 1998 with the planting of the vineyards has developed into a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of today's hectic world. If it has been a few years since you have visited please stop in and see how we've grown over the past 10 years. Many thanks to old and new friends for making the past 10 years memorable and successful and we look forward to a year of celebration in 2013. Mackinaw Valley Vineyard is situated on a glacial moraine and this natural high spot has an amazing 30 mile view from the tasting room of the valley and farms below. The 96 acre property has about 14.5 acres of grapes and we welcome you to come out and experience "Wine Country in Your Own Backyard", just a 20-30 minute drive from Peoria, East Peoria, Morton, Washington, Eureka, Bloomington-Normal, Pekin, Lincoln and other neighboring towns.

Dry Red Table Wines
COLE’S CLASSIC: A dry red with a pleasant full dark blackberry nose and flavors with a light smoky touch on the finish.
MACKINAW RESERVE: This dry blend of Baco Noir and Marchel Foch grapes has earthy tones with a hint of tart plum and black pepper with a smooth long finish. It pairs well with red meats and pasta dishes.
CODY’S ROUND-UP RED: This wine has raspberry and currant on the nose with a wisp of smoke. It has moderate acidity with a tangy dark berry finish.
Off Dry Red Table Wine
ERIC’S RED: This slightly sweet red blend has a touch of raspberry and blackberry flavors, especially on the finish.
Sweet Red Table Wine
ALEXANDER’S CONQUEST : This wine is a sweet blend of Marchel Foch, Frontenac and Cabernet. It’s low in tannins and medium acidity. A spicy onset with a hint of cloves, black currant and a long finish.
RUBY RED: This sweet blend of Baco Noir, Marchel Foch, and Frontenac has a slightly floral nose and a fruity sweet blackberry flavor that complements lamb, duck, beef and rich Mediterranean dishes or stands alone.
Flavored Red Wines-serve chilled
TROIS NOIR: Baco Noir, Corot Noir and Frontenac grapes are blended in this uniquely enhanced Chocolate wine. This wine starts with chocolate on the nose, raspberry on the palate and then a soft chocolate finish that is reminiscent of a red tootsie roll pop, adulthood and childhood all in one bottle.
DEUX NOIR: This Baco and Corot Noir wine blend has strong notes of Blackberry and Blueberry flavorings that compliment the natural raspberry flavors of these French American hybrid grapes. Over ice cream with berries it’s a natural.
SUNSET RESERVE: the port style fortified wine is rich and sweet with a warm finish that fills the throat with black raspberry flavors. Serve Room Temperature (375ml)
TWO GRANDPA’S: (Grappa Style Wine) This grappa style wine is made by fermenting the leftover grape skins and seeds. This wine has lush aromas and a rich sweet taste and hint of spice, meant to savor like a sherry or aperitif. (750ml) Serve chilled
DIANE’S DESIRE: This sangria style wine is a blend of Niagara and Baco Noir with fruity undertones served best chilled with your favorite spicy dish or mixed with fresh fruit.
NICOLE’S BLUSH: Our version of a white Zinfandel is a blend of Seyval grapes and red wine blend with added sweetness. This blush wine is a perfect compliment to cheese and crackers or with appetizers and light meals.
CARLY’S CREATION: A concord wine best served chilled enjoy with a light meal or dessert. Our most popular summer wine.
Sweet White Wines-Serve chilled
SEYVAL: This sweeter version of our popular dryer white wine has the same citrus characters with a refreshing apple and pear finish. Serve cold with roast pork, poultry or fish.
CAYUGA WHITE: One of the most productive grapes produces a wine with peach and citrus tones. Excellent when paired with a light meal, fruit, dessert, as well as on its own. Pour over fruit compote and freeze for a refreshing summer “slushy” anytime.
Semi-Sweet White Wines-Serve chilled
JASMINE’S MOONLIGHT: This Niagara blend is a refreshing semi-sweet wine and is named after the dearly departed family cat. Great for dessert or just sipping.
VIGNOLES: This off dry white wine is a hybrid of Viognier and displays notes of fresh apples and a citrus tart flavor lingering on the finish. Serve cold for a refreshing drink.
Dry White Wines-Serve chilled
SEYVAL (blue bottle): This dry, lightly acidic white wine has citrus characters with a refreshing apple and pear finish. Serve cold with roast, poultry or fish.
VIGNOLES: A medium bodied dry white wine that displays a complex mix of tastes and aromas. Notes of fresh apples and a citrus tart flavor lingering on the finish. Serve cold for a refreshing drink.
PRISCILLA’S PASSION: this wine pleases those that enjoy a Chardonnay. This is an off dry medium bodied wine with straw on the nose from the LaCrosse grape with tart lemon notes and a buttery finish.
ST PEPIN: This grape was developed in Minnesota for cold hardiness. It’s on the dry side with straw “on the nose” tones and crisp apricot flavors and a nice strong grape finish
Wines are made on site from French American Hybrid grapes and some native varietals. Red wines are blended from French American Hybrid varietals; Marchel Foch, Frontenac, Corot Noir, Baco Noir and St Croix. Our White and Blush wines are made using Vignoles, Seyval Blanc, St Pepin,Edelweiss,La Crosse,Niagara and Cayuga White just to name a few. Wines are available for complimentary tasting and purchase by the bottle or glass to enjoy in our tasting room or out on one of our deck or patio areas.
