New Mixer Recipes for the Holidays
Mackinaw Valley Vineyard Two Grandpa’s Wassail
2 cups Two Grandpa’s Wine
2 cups Cayuga White Wine
2 cups Apple Cider or Apple Juice
2 cups Cranberry Juice
1 large Orange with 10-20 cloves inserted in the skin (wash thoroughly)
1 orange cut into slices
2 Cinnamon Sticks
Mix all wines and juices together, squeeze in juice from orange slices and float in the mixture. Pour mixture into a crock pot or pot on your stove, adding cinnamon sticks and the whole orange with the cloves inserted in the skin. Heat for one hour in crock pot on medium or on stove until warm and serve in mugs. Makes 6-8 servings (depending on the mug size!!)
Mackinaw Valley Vineyard Two Grandpa’s Party Punch
4 cups Cranberry juice
2 cups Orange juice
2 Cups Two Grandpa’s Wine
Mix juices and wine in a pitcher and chill until cold. Serve in a large bowl stemware wine glass with an orange slice on the lip of the glass to garnish. If you like a little “Fizz” add a can of Sprite or 7up.
Enjoy! Makes 6-8 servings.
Erics Red Wine Chili Recipe
One pound of Ground Beef
One Chili seasoning packet
One large can Mild Chili Beans
One large can stewed tomatoes
One cup of Eric�s Red Wine
*Pour yourself a glass at this point too and also a glass for any kitchen
helpers that are underfoot.
One half chopped sweet onion.
One tablespoon brown sugar
Brown ground beef, add beans, tomatoes, onion, brown sugar, seasoning packet and cup of Eric�s red wine. Mix all ingredients together and simmer for half hour or more until desired consistency. Add salt and pepper to taste.
*Sprinkle with your favorite cheese, One of ours is with chili is Ropp Jersey Sharp Cheddar.
Recipe for Grape Cobbler
This recipe is from one of our U-Pick customers who was kind enough to share it with everyone. From Dorie’s neighbor
8 cups mashed grapes
1/2 cup flour ]
3 T. tapioca ] mix together and add to grapes
3/4 cup sugar ]
layer grape mixture in bottom of 9X13 pan (we sprayed pan first)
topping
1 stick butter
1 cup oatmeal
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
mix together and then put topping mixture over grape layer
bake @ 350 degrees – 40 minutes
